Bomb Scare In Adamawa As Police Arrest Boko Haram Suspect


There was a bomb scare close to the residence  of the State Governor Sen. Mohammed Jibrilla. Security personnel  had to cordon off the road leading to the Jimeta Zoo when some suspected Boko Haram Islamic insurgents gave a large polythene bag to a seven- year old primary 5 pupil of Gwadabawa primary school named Hassan, the suspected bomb to take  to the other children who were having fun at the zoo.

Kidnappers, ritualists’ den found near Ondo Assembly complex

A two-storeyed building suspected to be a hideout of kidnappers and ritual killers was on Monday discovered in Alagbaka, Akure, the Ondo State capital. The uncompleted building is located a few metres away from the Ondo State House of Assembly complex.
It was said to be owned by an unidentified retired civil servant, Okenwa Orji's Dairy reports. The den was discovered by the residents of the area who claimed that some men were always inside the building performing secret activities on a daily basis.

Why getting Nigerian passport is difficult


The Director-General of Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr Joe Abah, has attributed the present scarcity of the Nigerian passports to the increase exchange rate of the dollar.
      Abah made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja, He noted the dollar which was formerly exchanging between N150 to N160 was now N300 and above.
Abah added that the passport was not produced in Nigeria as only three companies in the world had the capacity and techniques to produce an international travel passport. “The reason for the scarcity is because since it’s not produced in the country, Nigeria had a contract with the foreign firm to do most of the production. "And at the time the contract was signed, 100 dollars was worth N15,000 which is the cost of the Nigerian passport of 32 pages, the 64 pages costs N20, 000.

A rescue operation is underway in Colombia after a tourist boat with about 150 people on board sank in a reservoir near Medellin.
“So far we have three people deceased” and “approximately 30 missing,” police commander Jorge Hernando Nieto said on Sunday. Nieto told Blu Radio that authorities are still in the process of identifying the victims.

Gunmen kill corps member in Yenagoa

Gunmen, suspected to be robbers, have shot dead a 30-year-old corps member and dispossessed him of his money and other valuables in Yenagoa, Bayelsa. The Police Public Relations Officer at the Bayelsa Command, Mr. Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Yenagoa.
      Butswat said preliminary investigation showed that the killing was cult-related adding that detailed investigation was ongoing to unravel those behind the dastardly act and apprehend them.
According to the Police, the incident occurred on Saturday evening on Melford Okilo Road, INEC/Kpansia area of Yenagoa metropolis.
The victim, Samuel Collins, was a graduate of Engineering from the University of Benin.
Collins was accosted by the hoodlums at INEC Road junction on his way to the Nigerian Content Development and Management Board’s office on Isaac Boro Expressway, where he was undergoing training.
