Seeds of Destiny 14 December 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Your Stand And Your Shield

Topic: Your Stand And Your Shield [Thursday December 14, 2017]

Scripture: …As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. I Kings 17:1

Thought For The Day: Where you stand determines how you end in life.

From our anchor scripture above, Elijah stood before King Ahab and fearlessly declared that there would be no rain until he had declared otherwise. What an audacity! It is like a civilian walking up to a military General and dictator, someone like Idi Amin Dada of Uganda or Adolf Hitler of Germany and telling him that he would not have access to the treasury of the country which he governs until he or she asks him to do so. That person, no doubt, would be on a suicide mission.

So here I am today, eighty-five years old! . . . I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Joshua 14:10–11

As I’ve grown older, I’ve noticed more joint pain, especially when cold weather hits. Some days, I feel less like a conqueror and more like someone conquered by the challenges of becoming a senior citizen.

...Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.... He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. - Psalm 112:1,7

Are you ready to face a crisis? Don't wait until one hits to find out. Prepare yourself now.

That's what a couple of my Partners did. They faced a situation that would have made many people panic. But when the crisis hit, their hearts were so deeply established on the Word of God that their first response was not one of fear but of faith.

Topic: He Hears You [Thursday December 14, 2017]

If we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. —1 John 5:14

God has said, “If my people . . . pray . . . then will I hear from heaven.” Before three thousand people were brought into the Church on the day of Pentecost, the disciples had spent ten days in prayer, fasting, and spiritual travail. God desires that Christians be concerned and burdened for a lost world. If we pray this kind of prayer, an era of peace may come to the world and the hordes of wickedness may be turned back.

Andrew Wommack’s Daily 14 December 2017 Devotional: Value Christ Higher Than Self

Topic: Value Christ Higher Than Self [Thursday December 14, 2017]

Matthew 28:9 "And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him."

Self-denial is embraced by much of Christianity today. Historically, self-denial has always been a big part of false religion. Most religions of the world teach an abasement of self, but they do it as penitence in order to obtain salvation. This is not the denying of self that the Bible advocates.

DCLM Daily Manna 14 December, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi - Irresistible Cry Of Faith

Topic: Irresistible Cry Of Faith — Thursday December 14, 2017.

Text: Luke 18:31-43

Key Verse: "And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me" (Luke 18:39).

"Three boys gave their definition of faith. One said, "Faith is taking hold of God". The second said, "Faith is holding on to God". And the third said, "Faith is not letting go". Each boy was right. "Doubt sees the obstacles, Faith sees the way! Doubt sees the darkest night, Faith sees the day! Doubt dreads to take a step, Faith soars on high! Doubt questions, ‘who believes’, Faith answers "I believe".

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me. — Psalm 23:4

When we let God take our messes and turn them into miracles, the Father has the ability to use our mistakes for our good if we will only trust Him.

7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.

8 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

Joyce Meyer's Daily Devotional: Follow the Little Promptings

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! — 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Holy Spirit always wants to lead us through life, but sometimes we get so focused on seemingly “big” issues that we don’t realize how much He speaks in small promptings every day.

Scripture: And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Matthew 14:28-29

Thought For The Day: It is the Word of God that equips you to sail through what sinks others.

An armour is a metal covering or shield on a person aimed at delivering him from danger in a battle.

As one of the most celebrated orchestral conductors of the twentieth century, Arturo Toscanini is remembered for his desire to give credit to whom credit is due. In David Ewen’s Dictators of the Baton, the author describes how members of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra rose to their feet and cheered Toscanini at the end of a rehearsal of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. When there was a lull in the ovation, and with tears in his eyes, Arturo’s broken voice could be heard exclaiming as he spoke: “It isn’t me . . . it’s Beethoven! . . . Toscanini is nothing.”

With everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy redeemer. — Isaiah 54:8

If God is all-powerful and all-loving, it would seem inconsistent with His nature to allow anyone to be lost. Here again we rationalize because we do not understand the nature of God. God cannot go against His own laws and against His own nature. God is holy. He cannot tolerate sin in His presence.

John 19:31 "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."

The Sabbath was first mentioned in scripture in Exodus 16, when the Lord miraculously provided manna to the children of Israel in the wilderness. The Israelites were commanded to gather twice as much manna on the sixth day because God would not provide any on the seventh day (Ex. 16:5, 22-30).

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Our Daily Bread 12 December 2017 Devotional – The Cure for Anxiety

Topic: The Cure for Anxiety — Tuesday December 12, 2017.

Read: Philippians 4:1–9, Bible in a Year: Hosea 9–11; Revelation 3

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

We were excited about moving for my husband’s job. But the unknowns and challenges left me feeling anxious. Thoughts of sorting and packing up belongings. Looking for a place to live. My finding a new job too. Making my way around a new city, and getting settled. It was all . . . unsettling. As I thought about my “to-do” list, words written by the apostle Paul echoed in my mind: Don’t worry, but pray (Phil. 4:6–7).

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV)

Today, we see many people who claim to be believers but go around with their heads bowed low in despair, discouragement and disappointment, especially when they consider their current realities. They parade themselves as believers, yet their utterances do not in any way suggest that they are. Their words do not align with what is expected of a believer.
