7 Healthy Food That enhances Your Heart!! Must Read

People who eat yogurt regularly have a higher chance of having healthy gums in the mouth. So what does this have to do with your heart? When gum disease develops and is not taken care of it can actually lead to heart disease.

People with gum disease are actually twice as likely to develop heart disease, and there are many studies about the direct correlation between inflammation and gum disease. The yogurt helps keep the gums healthy by providing probiotics, which are live and good forms of bacteria. The reasoning is that these good bacteria populate the mouth when you take a bite of yogurt, which would keep the bad bacteria at bay. To add more yogurt to your diet, try using it as a topper on dry cereal as opposed to milk.

Raisins
Raisins are another surprising food that can keep your gums healthy and subsequently your heart healthy. The antioxidants in raisins may be able to fight bacteria in the mouth that can cause inflammation and gum disease.

Whole Grains
Whole grains are not healthy simply because they are a hearty way to fill up. People who eat them regularly tend to have lower body weights, which is always beneficial to heart health. Whole grains also have antioxidants, phytoestrogens, and phytosterols that can help protect against heart disease. Providing plenty of fiber is another important part of the whole grain health benefits. Soluble fiber binds with bile acids that contain cholesterol in the digestive system and removes them from the body before it can go into your blood stream and be redistributed. When the bile acids are removed the body sends more cholesterol into the digestive system and the soluble fiber takes out even more. Soluble fiber can be found in oatmeal, beans, and oranges.

Beans
Beans are great at lowering cholesterol for the same reasons mentioned about whole grains. They have another trick up their sleeve however, by being packed with flavonoids. which lower the risk of heart attacks and strokes by inhibiting the adhesion of platelets in the blood. When the fiber in beans is fermented in the digestive system it creates short fatty acid chains that can stop cholesterol from being made at all.

Salmon
Fatty fish are full of heart healthy omega-3’s, which are crucial for beating inflammation in the body. People who eat at least two servings of fish per week can have up to a 30% reduction in their chances of developing heart disease. Omega 3’s can also lower triglycerides in the body and improve the flow of the blood. Omega-3’s can also lower your blood pressure.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes are a great source of vitamin A and vitamin C, and they also have lycopene, which is important for heart health. Lycopene works alongside the other vitamins in the tomato to improve your overall health.

Apples
Apple eaters might have a lower of suffering strokes due to the great nutrients and antioxidant flavonoids they contain. Apples also contain pectin which is a great soluble fiber source for lowering cholesterol.
